Keep Me A Secret: Chapter 2

Previously: Chapter 1 [U]

‘Update my fic,’ Clom said. Who am I to refuse? As an aside, thank you on behalf of Clom to everyone who delurked to post a comment on the last chapter – illalwayswonder, verbalvandal, nautic187 and Rc – and to those who popped back to remind us that you all still love the Spashley. And a special hiya to our male reader (you know who you are).

Rating: U.

PG CCCXLXV – Spam

This is not a post about Monty Python. Nor is it a post about canned ham product. It’s a post, indeed, about the wealth of internet garbage that washes the shores of, yes, this very blog.

If your comments go missing, it’s because our overactive spam filter has eaten them. I clear it out, as does Dev, but often it’s far too late. Usually it’s because you’ve posted three times in a row, or put more than one link in, or something.

However, our filter is grand in that it actually gets all the real spam. Some of which is quite amusing.

Here is a selection for you.

PGCCCXLIV: Scotland

I was going to do a post on Scottish-to-International English, but I’ve been too busy dicking around trying to avoid real work all day, so I’m giving you all a link just now that Yeebs provided: firstfoot.com. That should offer a decent insight into Scotland as a starter and tomorrow I’ll add to this post with some handy vocab.

PG CCCXLIII – Birfdays

In case people missed it, It was Bluesah’s birfday over the weekend.

My present to her will be a’comin.

PGCCCXLII: Healthy

According to an article published in the British Journal of Psychiatry[1], researchers have found a link between poor diet and depression, with those who eat more healthily having a 26% lower risk of future depression than those who don’t. If you want to put that the other way around, this means that if your diet consists mainly of processed foods, you have a 58% higher risk of future depression than those who eat more natural foods.

PGCCCXLI: Mars

For those who are interested, there’s a BBC article on the latest Dr Who special, due to be aired on November 15.

Have a great weekend, people.

PGCCCXL: Reminder

Just to remind everyone, words of greater than 36 characters will break the site design in hand-held devices. And then I will bear down upon you with great vengeance and smite you.

To help you out: thirtysixcharactersinonewordisplenty

Anything longer than that, you will feel my wrath. Those who have transgressed recently know who they are *coughs*Packsy*coughs*

PGCCCXXXIX: Bats of Wom

Curious creatures that they are, I thought it was time we dedicated a PG to the little buggers.

PGCCCXXXVIII: Appreciation

My platonic lobster, the great Sezje, AKA Clom, had a comment on Precious Things left by nautic187 in which she said:

So a little birdie told me you guys read new comments even on really old stories

Yes, yes, we do. I can confirm that Clom and myself read every single comment ever posted on every fic. And we appreciate the hell out of everyone who ever leaves a comment. Having someone delurk to post a comment on a fic that might have been completed a couple of years ago is a huge honour and we adore anyone who feels moved to do that. So, thank you to everyone who’s ever commented. You rock.

Hear Bloody Hear! – Clom

PGCCCXXXVII: Happy

There’s a new series of The Thick of It starting on BBC2 tonight. It doesn’t take much to make me happy. And this makes me happy. Carry on!
