PG CCCXLIII – Birfdays

In case people missed it, It was Bluesah’s birfday over the weekend.

My present to her will be a’comin.

Yeeben’s birfday is coming up, around say, the 19th.

And I think there are a few others around. Try emailing me or I’ll miss them.

Hey, I actually use oftentimes occasionally.

I think the word I use the most now that I didn’t before the PG is uni. Here, most people just say they are going to college. There is a difference between classifications of colleges and universities, but we still generally say college.

Oh yeah, and I also say football more now (although, I do occasionally mess this one up)

Vaguely religious? I must have been unclear at some point because my background is totally absolutely very clearly religous. You’re right, I probably do know smite for that reason, but Tolkien made me love the word.

I wasn’t part of a big group of kids, instead, I had a tight group of a few friends, who I saw after school and still see to this day. I think I got the better end of the deal ;).

English made up for it, though, lol.

Okay, Detention story (not my detention); When I was a freshman I remember one of the senior classes was serving a detention. The entire class. We always mocked the French teacher, he was easy to make fun of. I remember my class making tea for everyone and walking into the detention room, and giving out tea to all the seniors, but skipping the teacher, lol. He was all ‘Aw, how nice’ when we were handing it out, until we got to him, and didn’t give him any. Never seen anyone so red in the face with anger, lol.

Whatevs dude, you know my report card wouldn’t be bad. Only class I didn’t really do well in was French in the 3rd year. That’s why I dropped it ;).

English made up for it, though, lol.

Awwww. I was always getting an A, or, at worst, B in French class. Up until my exam. Then I choked. I honestly forgot so much of it.

    LOL@detention story.
Our year 11 French teacher had one leg shorter than the other, so she’d drop down every time she walked. Everyone called her pegleg but she laughed it off. It was cute.

The BEST teacher to wind up was our Maths teacher. The campest man I have ever known and he was/is married to a model. When you’d piss him off, his face would go so red and he’d stick his tongue out and like, bite down on it. So if he was throwing you out of the class, he’d go red, stomp over to you, say “get out!”, gather your things and stand there biting his tongue.

I don’t know if you have to be there… but it always killed me.

That is SO your mum, lol. Gonna ask her about that story next time ;)

    You do that :P

I couldn’t imagine doing French exam… I’m glad I dropped it. And German, lol.

I did 6 subjects on my exam. English, Dutch, Biology, Maths, Geography, and History. I think I napped through most of my English one, I was done with it after like 20 mins. You get 90 mins or something and you HAVE to sit in for at least 60.

    Sounds…lovely, Joey.

Our math teacher looked like a bulldog. No seriously, he really did. Everyone said so. Plus he smelled of cigars. But he was good on piano and he could balance a broomstick off his chin. Yes, he demonstrated.

If you can dream it, Nic Cage bought it: yachts, a jet, a castle, over 50 cars, over a million dollars’ worth of comic books, multiple (supposedly haunted) mansions in New Orleans, two Bahamanian islands, shrunken heads that may or may not have been human, and, famously, a $500k Lamborghini once owned by the Shah of Iran. Most amusingly, Cage spent $276,000 on a dinosaur skull in a “heated auction with Leonardo DiCaprio.” … He has many pets, including two King Cobras—for which he kept antidote serum on his wall—and an octopus.

Yes, I am confused as well. It’s because of all the different titles, I think. My DVD rental place took the movie down. So I can’t get it from there anymore. There’s only one version of the movie available on Amazon, the one subtitled in Finnish and Norwegian. I am hoping an English subtitled one comes around soon. Don’t know if anyone mentioned this, but a certain coach we all know and love has a birthday on the 19th, too. Someone email that to Clommy.

Detention story: I got to my freshman Geometry class before the bell, but realized I had grabbed the wrong book from my locker so I asked my teacher if I could go to my locker and get the right one. She said I had to make it back before the bell, which would be ringing any second. Mind you, my locker was only about 4 or 5 lockers down from the classroom door. So I ran to my locker to switch the books and ran back into class…2 seconds after the bell had rung. She gave me a detention for that. The only one I’ve ever had. Same teacher also treated me like a baby who would have a hard time in her class since it was a class full of seniors and I was a freshman. She felt real stupid when I ended up having the highest grade in her class. I may have corrected her in class a few times, too. Can you tell I didn’t like her?

I have another story about an art teacher who tried to fail me. Said teacher got fired! He really should have known better.

Teacher saw this and said I was cheating, putting the answer in the calculator so he could copy it. Wtf? Like I would help that fucker out. He didn’t give us point for the answer anyway, it’s how you get to the answer that gets the points.

  327. dev0347

They’re bottom of their group, 2 wins and 2 defeats and only two games left. Stuttgart are only on 3 points, though, and the Romanians are only on 5. So, if Urziceni lose to both Stuttgart and Seville and Rangers beat both Stuttgart and Seville, then Rangers would be second. I think. Those are all big ‘ifs’, though.

I used to drink Aftershock. I was not unadventurous when it came to drink, but I’m with Yeebs: white rum is the work of the devil, in any flavour.

My top tip for you all is that brandy is not a good mixer for white rum and drinking it thusly will put you off both drinks for life.

O Come O Come Emmanuel is my favorite carol.

Mele Kalikimaka is my fave non-traditional.

    Anything Bing Crosby sings really.

I know Stefje’s gone already, but I have a KFC version of Oh Holy Night on the iPod. It’s not my favourite version – and I say this as someone who has at least thirty different versions of that song – but it’s in my top five.

I know one but it’s a typical one and not everyone likes it. It always feels like Christmas when I hear it. Fairytale of New York.

Agree on Oh Holy Night though Dev.

I get *flustered* at the accent, only when Cheryl speaks, lol. I used to love the Mackem accent on most of my mates, too, but I currently like the Cockney accent best. Trip to London is to blame, I’m sure.

I have a strange affection for Carragher. Oo we need a ‘Murican to say that name!

Dev, Walter hardly opens his gob, I even find it hard to decipher him. SAF is all shouty and lived in Engerland a bit, she gets those Scottish accents.
